Event Information :
<The Flower>
Through April 24th to May 31st, the event “The Flower” is held in the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden.
The garden was established by a British trader Samuel Cocking who set up a villa at the top of Enoshima in the middle of the Meiji era. And he made a garden with a modern greenhouse, which was said to be the largest in the Orient at that time. Fascinated by the beauty of Enoshima, Cocking introduced Japanese plants to his home country, and also brought in rare South Sea plants and introduced them as well. And it also helped him to communicate with the local people in many ways. Centered on Samuel Cocking Garden, Enoshima becomes a world full of beautiful flowers, greenery, and beautiful colors in this season.
During the event period, you will enjoy the special display of flowers in the garden that bloom in spring and early summer. In addition, you can take a picture at the “botanical” photo spot, admire the blooming of the beautiful roses that were gifted from Windsor City in Canada, and visit the remains of Cockings’s greenhouse that are opened for a special exhibition.
